Sulfuric Acid, is a colorless, pungent-smelling liquid that dissolves in water. It's widely used in various industries such as wastewater treatment, textile bleaching, mining, and petrochemical processing. However, a common question arises about which type of rubber sheet is suitable or resistant to Sulfuric Acid. This article aims to shed light on that subject.
The selection of rubber sheets resistant to Sulfuric Acid depends on the acid's concentration level. For diluted concentrations, such as 10% Sulfuric Acid, one can opt for IIR (Butyl Rubber), EPDM, CSM, or Hypalon rubber sheets, and VITON (FKM/FPM). These 4 types of rubber sheets exhibit excellent resistance to diluted Sulfuric Acid.
However, for applications involving high concentration Sulfuric Acid, specifically 98% concentration, it is advisable to use only VITON rubber sheets. Other types of rubber sheets are not recommended for such high concentration levels.
At HyperSheet, we offer a variety of rubber sheets including IIR, EPDM, CSM, Hypalon, and VITON that are capable of withstanding different concentrations of Sulfuric Acid. Our rubber sheets are available in thicknesses ranging from 0.5 to 25 mm, with widths of 1 to 1.5 meters and a length of 10 meters per roll. We also provide custom cutting services for immediate installation, making them more convenient for various applications, including as gasket materials.
If you are interested in or looking for rubber sheets suitable for use with or resistant to Sulfuric Acid, feel free to consult and order from the HyperSheet brand.
